Pretty Broken Dolls is the latest project of Anh Rắc Rối (Mr. Trouble in Vietnamese). ARR has a long music history spanning both space and time from the earliest days of the California punk scene in the late ’70s, to the darkest European goth scene centered around early ’90s Belgium and beyond.
Aside from serving stints in ’80s nightclubs of Chicago and San Francisco, and the ’90s club scenes of London, New York and Tokyo, nearly thirty years ago ARR released the album Codex with the band Dresden. From 1989 to 1992 Dresden was a fixture playing on the industrial club scene in San Francisco. ARR and his fellow bandmates delivered massive live guitars alongside huge doses of electronics and obscure noise digitally processed in real-time.
After spending the last 21 years immersed in the visual and literary arts centered around Saigon, ARR is back in full force musically with Pretty Broken Dolls – Saigon’s most dangerous band of pussycats!
